Introduction: Stroke is one of the diseases that cause death and impact serious health problems. The inflammatory response that appears in ischemic stroke will affect the progression of the stroke. This study examines the ethanol extract of Jatropha leaves (Jatropha curcas L.) as a gel compress preparation in post-ischemic stroke patients. Methods: The research design was experimental with a randomized post-test-only control group design. The sample was extracted with 96 % ethanol as solvent. Jatropha leaf samples (Jathropa curcas L.) were blended until smooth and weighed as much as 500 g in a 1 000 mL glass beaker. After that, 96 % ethanol was added to the procedure and poured into the extraction vessel. This study used a phytochemical screening test.
