Los neutrófilos son de vital importancia para la protección del organismo frente a infecciones, pero en determinadas ocasiones y por diferentes causas, puede presentarse una reducción del recuento de neutrófilos, lo cual se define como Neutropenia. La neutropenia se divide básicamente en Aguda (menor a 1 mes) y Crónica (mayor a 3 meses). Este artículo se enfoca en la Neutropenia Crónica indicando detalladamente sus distintas definiciones, clasificaciones, diagnóstico, tratamientos y pronóstico; con la finalidad de familiarizar al lector sobre esta patología poco estudiada.Title
Infantile chronic neutropenia
Abstract
Neutrophils are a very important component in protecting the body against infections, but some specific situations and different causes might reduce the neutrophils count which is called Neutropenia. Neutropenia can be: Acute (less than 1 month), and Chronic (more than 3 months). This article is about Chronic Neutropenia explaining in detail the different concepts, classifications, diagnose, treatments and prognostic, with the goal of familiarizing the reader on this unknown pathology.
