Neutropenia crónica en la infancia

Abstract

Los neutrófilos son de vital importancia para la protección del organismo frente a infecciones, pero en determinadas ocasiones y por diferentes causas, puede presentarse una reducción del recuento de neutrófilos, lo cual se define como Neutropenia. La neutropenia se divide básicamente en Aguda (menor a 1 mes) y Crónica (mayor a 3 meses). Este artículo se enfoca en la Neutropenia Crónica indicando detalladamente sus distintas definiciones, clasificaciones, diagnóstico, tratamientos y pronóstico; con la finalidad de familiarizar al lector sobre esta patología poco estudiada.

This article is about Chronic Neutropenia explaining in detail the different concepts, classifications, diagnose, treatments and prognostic, with the goal of familiarizing the reader on this unknown pathology.
