Editorial Policy

 All contributions sent to the “Gestión I+D journal” for publication must be theoretically and methodologically based and must be written taking into account the usual structure of a scientific research (Introduction, method, results, discussion, conclusions and bibliographical references; see more details in the “Standard for Authors”.

The formal aspects that are evaluated in the first revision are the following:

  • It must conform to the publication format.
  • The abstract should not exceed 250 word, written in a single block and be composed of the purpose of the research, the methodology used and the main findings and conclusions. It should not contain references or acronyms.
  • It must include the titles, abstract and key words in Spanish and English.
  • The key word must be separated by semicolons.
  • Tables and figures must be adequately cited in the text, numbered and titled.
  • Bibliographic references are adequately cited (following APA 4th version in Spanish).
  • References are current (approximately 30% are from the last 4 or 5 years).
  • All contributions should be sent by e-mail to revistapgid@gmail.com.
  • The journal “Gestión I+D” does not charge article processing or publication fees.

Intellectual Property Policy

Authors and co-authors explicitly declare in their cover letter:

  • That the contribution sent, with a view to publication, are: original, unpublished, derived from their research and have not been simultaneously postulated for publication in another journal.
  • That they accept the peer review process of the journal “Gestión I+D”, under the external evaluation system under the double-blind review methodology.
  • That they undertake to make any possible improvements to the contributions after the evaluations sent by the journal “Gestión I+D”, making a shipment with the improvements in the established times and to express disagreement with certain relevant aspects should express their opinion and ask for clarification as part of the debate and scientific exchange.
  • That there are no commitments or financial obligations with state or private organizations that may affect the content, results or conclusions of the contribution sent.

Open access policy

The works hosted in the “Gestión I+D” Journal can be viewed and downloaded freely, without registration or prior authorization, under the principle of promoting global knowledge sharing, but always respecting the conditions set out in the licenses of use attached to them. Authors are not charged for publishing in this Journal. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without requesting prior permission from the editor or the author. This is in accordance with the definition of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Also, “Gestión I+D” is a signatory of the Declaration of San Francisco (DORA) on scientific evaluation.

The journal Gestión I+D is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

Frequency of Publication

 “Gestión I+D” is an electronic journal, free, open access to full text, open scientific-academic, in Spanish language (with summary in English, Spanish and French), with a fixed periodicity, biannually, receives texts throughout the year, which are published twice a year (January-June) and (July-December) published every January 15 and July 15 of each year, open to all currents of thought as long as they are framed in the following thematic coverage or research lines of the Postgraduate in Research and Development Management.

Authorship and contribution policy

 Authors who publish in the journal “Gestión I+D” know and accept the following conditions:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal “Gestión I+D” the non-exclusive right to publish the manuscript through the channels it deems appropriate.
  • The authors retain all copyrights and grant to the journal “Gestión I+D” the right of first publication, under Creative Commons license, which allows third parties to use what is published, provided they make reference to the author or authors of the work and its publication in this journal”.
  • Authors may establish additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution and visibility of the version of the work published in the Journal “Gestión I+D”, acknowledging the initial publication in the same, such as in institutional repositories. And using the version found in this repository.
  • Authors are authorized to disseminate their work electronically once it is published in the repository of the journal “Gestión I+D”.
  • Authors guarantee that the contribution submitted does not contain fraud, nor does it infringe copyright, literary, trademark or property rights of third parties.
  • The authors assume full responsibility for the opinions contained in the work.
  • The authors guarantee that, in the event that the contribution contains unpublished materials of another author or authors, they have all the necessary permissions for its use, and therefore, they will be able to deliver them to the journal, if necessary.
  • The authors guarantee that they have fully read and agree to the editorial policies of the journal “Gestión I+D”.
  • The authors agree to accept that their contribution will be published under the Creative Common license assumed by this journal: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

Conflict of interest policy

 A conflict of interest arises when the judgment regarding the research is influenced by factors such as: financial gain, academic credits and personal relationships, among others. Therefore, authors have the responsibility to report any economic, professional, personal or other association that may influence or be perceived to influence their contribution.

Complaints and appeals policy

The journal “Gestión I+D” will attend and resolve complaints or appeals related to the non-compliance of any of the practices or policies described in the editorial process involving authors, editorial, scientific or arbitration committee under the following aspects:

Non-publication of the contribution: arguments will be thoroughly evaluated without this implying a commitment to publication.

Cases of plagiarism: the journal will use the plagiarism tools available to confirm with objectivity under the responsibility of the editorial committee. If this is not sufficient, it will resort to the opinion of an external evaluator.

Peer review results: the author's arguments will be analyzed and if necessary a new reviewer will be requested to define the result.

Conduct of the members of the different committees (editorial, scientific or arbitration): these will be analyzed within the scientific and editorial committees.

If there are complaints from readers, the interested parties should send a duly identified and signed letter (anonymous documents are not accepted) to the editorial committee by e-mail to revistapgid@gmail.com, with the following basic data:

  • Place and date.
  • Full name(s) of the interested party(ies).
  • Basic data for its location: e-mail and telephone number.
  • Duly motivated and justified subject.

Once the letter has been reviewed and it has been observed that it has the elements that justify the complaint or appeal, the editorial committee will respond and resolve it.

Persistent identifiers policy

All authors are required to provide their personal ORCID identifier in their contributions. If their work is accepted, it will be published with their ORCID code.  This is a persistent identifier that distinguishes authors from other authors.

  • - Public access to all contents from the technological platform of the Universidad Central de Venezuela “SABER UCV”, using search and navigation engines.
  • - Subscription to the contents through RSS news channels.
  • - Dissemination of news through the social networks: Facebook, Twitter.
  • - Support to researchers via email (Contact Section)
  • - Participation in workshops (only in person)

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Gestión I+D is an open access journal entirely free of charge for readers and authors, which favors the reuse and self-archiving of its articles in databases, repositories, directories and international information systems, which promotes a greater exchange of global knowledge. This means that APC (Article Processing Charge) does not apply. There is no charge at any stage of the editorial management process. We do not have intermediaries or managers; the entire editorial process is done through the declared means: through the OJS platform or through the scientific journal's mail; and the entire communication flow is done through the journal's institutional mail. The editorial process developed in the Journal is free of charge and adheres to the editorial rules declared in the corresponding section.

Plagiarism detection policy

The journal “Gestión I+D” rejects plagiarism and fraudulent practices, therefore, all contributions submitted for publication will be subjected to an originality analysis before sending to peer review.

In case of detecting any type of fraud, the text will be removed from the process and the author will be informed of this decision. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the authors to use the information properly, respecting the authorship of the documents, in that sense the journal “Gestión I+D” states that, upon detecting plagiarism, self-plagiarism or any situation that transgresses the ethical standards of scientific publication, it should:

  • - Reject article
  • - Communicate the plagiarism/self-plagiarism/situation to the researcher(s).

The journal requests researchers to cite the contents of the original source when they are going to use them.

In this sense, and in order to ensure compliance with the quality standards of the publication, and maintain the original and unpublished nature of the published results, all contributions received will be subject to verification through Plagius software.

It is emphasized that Revista gestión I+D reserves the right to use Plagius plagiarism detection software at any stage of the publication process to evaluate the submitted and published documents.

Digital Preservation Policy

The contents of the journal “Gestión I+D” have enabled the digital preservation system in PKP Preservation Network (PN), LOCKSS (Lots of Coples Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Coples Keep Stuff Safe) through OJS, which guarantee the journal permanent and safe archives.

The journal “Gestión I+D”, uses for its visibility and digital preservation the technological platform of the Universidad Central de Venezuela “SABER UCV”, with its editorial system Open Journal System, a system that allows long-term preservation of all the documents it houses. Additionally, other policies are taken into consideration by the Electronic Journal “Gestión I+D”, among them we have:

Backing up on CD of all the content of the articles, the verdicts made in the double blind review process, including legal, academic and administrative processes of the journal.

Storage and restoration in the technological platform that has the Universidad Central de Venezuela “SABER UCV”, easily readable formats (such as PDF). And any other type of format that allows the accessibility and visibility of the articles and their authors in the long term.

Interoperability Policy

The “Gestión I+D journal” provides interoperability protocols that allow its contents to be harvested by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories through the OAI-PMH interface (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) which guarantees interoperability between different platforms and repositories through the exchange of metadata.
