Abstract

Brief history of Forensic Carcinology

Abstract. The insects and other arthropods have been used for a long time by forensic scientists to establish the interval post mortem of another organism, as well as to answer other questions in criminal investigations. However, the study of crustaceans is a nascent topic that has gradually gained importance as evidence in criminal cases, despite the fact that 28 years have passed since the first forensic investigations involving crustaceans. Therefore, this paper reviews the most relevant historical framework of forensic Carcinology through a bibliographic compilation of published scientific works.
