Sustainable Educational Space: Contributions to Social Transformation

Resumen

We detail, in this text, the Sustainable Educator Space concept from the perspective of Transformative Environmental Education. For this, we use critical thinking in the analysis of national official documents that bring this concept and the reflection of Loureiro (2012) to support the emancipatory approach to Environmental Education. As a result, we infer that the official documents, even with textual variations, use the need for the triad physical space, management and curriculum approach for the representation of the concept of sustainable educator space (EES). Still, in this concept, the physical space is reconfigured for better appropriation of environmental goods, as well as for the creation of spaces for interaction and conviviality at school. Management is democratic and participatory and can count on the Environment and Quality of Life Commission for the development of actions and a political-pedagogical project, whereby the curriculum is developed with critical pedagogies and actions in favor of socio-environmental sustainability. Finally, we defend Transformative Environmental Education as a theoretical and methodological support for the transformation of Brazilian public schools into sustainable educator spaces.

Doctoral Student in Science Teaching at UFMS/CG; Master in Education by UEMS/CG; Specialist in School Management: Guidance and Supervision by São Luis (2018); Specialist in Media in Education by UFMS (2012); Specialist in Environmental Education by SENAC/MS (2008); Graduated in Biological Sciences by UEMS (2005); Effective teacher in the Mato Grosso do Sul State Education Network since 2013; Effective teacher in the Municipal Education network of Campo Grande since 2013; Member of the Study and Research Group on Teacher Training and Science Teaching; Member of the Interinstitutional Committee on Environmental Education (CIEA/MS) for the period 2010-2017. Professor in the Pedagogy course at Faculdade Insted. Distance Tutor in the Course of Technology in Education and Work Processes: School Meals. Currently assigned as Flow Correction Coordinator - CCORF/SUPED/SED/MS. He has experience in the areas of Education and Teaching, with an emphasis on Science Teaching and Environmental Education, with the themes: Science Practices, Teacher Training and Public Policies in Environmental Education.

Angela Maria Zanon, Universidade Federal De Mato Grosso Do Sul, Campo Grande-Ms

Graduated in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1977), Masters in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1982) and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from São Paulo State University Júlio of Mesquita Filho (1990). She is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. Professor and Advisor in the Postgraduate Program (Masters and Doctorate) in Science Teaching-INFI / UFMS. She has experience in the field of Education, with an emphasis on Environmental Education and Science and Biology Teaching, working mainly on the following topics: environmental education, science teaching, teacher training. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Science Teaching at UFMS for the period from 2016 to 2018. Retired professor at UFMS, acting as Senior Professor/Researcher in the Graduate Program in Science Teaching (Masters and Doctorate) - INFI/UFMS.

Suzete Rosana de Castro Wiziack, Universidade Federal De Mato Grosso Do Sul, Campo Grande-Ms

She has a degree in Biological Sciences-United Catholic Colleges of Mato Grosso with a Masters in Education from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and a Doctorate in Education from the Catholic University of Dom Bosco. She is a Professor of the Licentiate Degree in Biology courses at the Biosciences Institute of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. She works as a Professor/Researcher in the Master's Course in Science Teaching, in the lines of research in Science Teaching and Environmental Education. She works in the areas and themes: Biology Teaching, Environmental Education, Curriculum and Teacher Training. She coordinates the Master's and Doctorate courses in Science Teaching at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, managing the Agreement with the University of Matanzas-Cuba. She coordinates the biology sub-project (INBIO) of the Pedagogical Residency at UFMS

Marcos Vinicius Campelo Junior, Universidade Federal De Mato Grosso Do Sul, Campo Grande-Ms

Graduation in Full Degree in Geography from the State University of Goiás (2007); Specialization in Sociology (2011); Master in Science Teaching from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (2015); and currently a Doctoral in Science Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. Manager of the Policy Coordination for Elementary Education at the Ministry of Education of MS; President of the State Environmental Education Commission of MS; Member of the Environmental Epistemology, Curriculum and Decolonial Pedagogy Research Group (UFMS). Member of the Interinstitutional Committee on Environmental Education (CIEA/MS). He has experience in the areas of Education and Teaching, with an emphasis on Teaching Geography with the themes: Environmental Education, Teacher Training, Sustainable Development, Non-formal Teaching Spaces and Conservation Units.
