Abstract

Abstract

Some ideas on Hermeneutics are proposed in the light of Gadamer’s and Vattimo’s works and onthe relationship of their thought and Heidegger’s. This issue is typical of present philosophy, since the significance of Hermeneutics today shows from the radical doubts and criticism arising in our culture about science and the core position of the subject self that supports it. Consequently, Nietzsche’s and Heidegger’s ideas are crucial in the understanding of Hermeneutics as a philosophy that intends to overcome modernity. This task is possible, in Gadamer’s and Vattimo’s view, only by a through consideration of the conditionsand possibilities of understanding the «there being» which show the insufficiencies of scientific thought and the dangers deriving from the absolutization o f technical knowledge.
