La res cogitans cartesiana

Abstract

El trabajo reflexiona en tomo a la concepción cartesiana de la mente, en qué consiste la actividad de pensar, así como las relaciones con la conciencia, las matemáticas, el lenguaje y la mathesis universalis. De estas premisas se intenta justificar el rechazo de Descartes a una máquina pensante. Se compara en varios momentos la posición de Descartes con la de Hobbes.

Abstract

This paper deals with the cartesian conception of the mind, the activity of thinking, the relationships with the conscience, mathematics, language and mathesis universalis. From these premises we try to justify Descartes’ rejection of a thinking machine. In several occasions Descartes’ position is compared with that of Hobbes.
