Objective: To analyze the usefulness of ophthalmic artery doppler echo as a screening method for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, in pregnant women with and without risk factors. Methods: 2 groups of 30 pregnant patients with gestational ages of 11-26 weeks each will be chosen, who will undergo doppler echo of the ophthalmic artery and doppler echo of the maternal uterine arteries, in 2 controls; one early (11-14 weeks) and one late (24-26 weeks) with measurement of the velocity values of the first systolic peak (P1), and second systolic peak (P2) and (IP); for both groups. The results were subjected to Pearson's chi-square analysis test and the ROC curve to evaluate statistical significance and compare both tests as prognostic markers of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Results: High sensitivity and specificity were found in ophthalmic artery doppler and uterine artery doppler with high specificity and low sensitivity for preeclampsia. Conclusion: doppler ultrasound of the ophthalmic artery is a marker comparable to doppler ultrasound of the uterine arteries with high sensitivity and specificity that allows the screening of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. |
