A 125 años de la fundación del Hospital Vargas

Resumen

El primero de enero de 2016 se cumplieron 125 años
de la fundación del Hospital Vargas en la Ciudad de
Caracas. El Vargas es el hospital más antiguo de
la ciudad y el primer hospital universitario desde el
siglo XIX, cuando las cátedras clínicas de la UCV se
mudaron a su recinto. Durante más de un siglo este
nosocomio ha servido a la población de Caracas y
Venezuela. Médicos destacados han pasado por este
lugar. En 1991 se cumplieron los primeros 100 años
y hubo una gran celebración a todo nivel tanto en
las academias, como en la universidad así como en
el gobierno nacional. Ahora al cumplirse 125 años
de su fundación no hubo ningún festejo y al parecer
ningún organismo público o privado tomo en cuenta
este acontecimiento. El hospital vive en este momento
la peor crisis de su historia.

SUMMARY
January first, 2016 marked the 125th anniversary of the
founding of the Vargas Hospital in the City of Caracas,
Venezuela. Vargas is the oldest Hospital in the city
and the first University Hospital since the nineteenth
century, when clinical chairs of the Central University
of Venezuela (UCV) moved into their facility. For
over a century, this Hospital has served the people of
Caracas and Venezuela. Prominent physicians have
worked in this Hospital. In 1991 it accomplished the
first 100 years and there was a big celebration at
all levels in both schools, colleges and the National
Government. Now after completion 125 years of its
foundation there was no celebration and apparently
no public or private educational organization took into
account this event. The hospital currently lives in the
worst crisis in its long history serving the Venezuelan
community
