Viajeros alemanes a Venezuela en el siglo XIX

Resumen

En el siglo XIX vinieron a Venezuela alrededor de 200 viajeros extranjeros. Casi todos dejaron su testimonio sobre el país, el cual constituye una fuente histórica muy valiosa. Entre los viajeros, los alemanes  fueron los más acuciosos estudiosos de nuestra geografía física y humana. El artículo presenta el aporte de 24 viajeros alemanes al conocimiento de Venezuela, la importancia y calidad de sus variados testimonios, claves ellos para descifrar aspectos desconocidos del siglo XIX venezolano.

Abstract
In the 19th century came to Venezuela around 200 foreigner travellers. Almost all of them left their testimony of the country, which constitutes a very important source of history. Amongst the travellers, the Germans were the ones who studied our physical and human geography in greatest detail. The article shows the contribution from 24 German travellers to the knowledge about Venezuela; the importance and quality of their varied testimonies, were essential for discovering unknown aspects from the Venezuelan 19th century.
