Abstract

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of unknown etiology, with a special predilection for the female genital area1. We present the case of a 57-year-old male patient who consulted for the appearance of hypopigmented plaques on the lower limbs with concomitant itching and burning. Clinically it is diagnosed as extragenital lichen sclerosus, corroborated by histological study. Treatment with high-potency topical steroids and calcineurin inhibitors was prescribed, which improved the skin lesions and pruritus. This case is presented because the extragenital location of this pathology is rare.
