Abstract

Las verrugas cutáneas constituyen hiperplasias epiteliales benignas causadas por la infección del virus de papiloma humano (VPH).Su prevalencia varía ampliamente entre diferentes grupos de edad, poblaciones y períodos de tiempo, siendo mayor en niños y adultos jóvenes. Se presenta un caso en un adolescente con verrugas plantares y periungueales de difícil manejo tratado con queratolítico e inmunoterapia tópicos, con una respuesta satisfactoria.  Summary: Cutaneous warts constitute benign epithelial hyperplasias caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Its prevalence varies widely among different age groups, populations and time periods, being higher in children and young adults. We present a case of an adolescent with plantar and periungual warts of difficult handling, treated with keratolytic and topical immunotherapy with a satisfactory response.
