Abstract

Reed’s syndrome is an autosomic, dominant, of incomplete penetrance, syndrome, more frequent among women between the second and fourth decade of life. It is characterized by hereditary cutaneous leiomyomas, and uterine leiomyomas in women. There is a variant of this syndrome associated to renal cell cancer, and in this group of patients a mutation of the gene which codifies fumarate hydratase has been identified. Clinically, leiomyomas are characterized by papules or nodules with skin, brown or red color. Treatment is based on surgical excision when there are few lesions, or management of pain when they are multiple. We present the case of a female patient who presents uterine leiomyomas and multiple erythematous cutaneous leiomyomas, some with a xantochromic aspect. This last characteristic constitutes an unusual clinical presentation, not reported in the literature consulted.
