Abstract

Prurigus corresponds to a group of cutaneous pathologies of doubtful or unknown etiology, characterized by intense pruritus and papulous and nodular lesions. Pruritus, together with pain, are an important part of noeyception. In chronic pruriginous diseases such as atopic dermatitis, this aspect can significantly affect the patient's quality of life and therefore, its control can be the basis of its treatment. Studies of prurigus are directed to finding connections between the skin and the central nervous system (CNS). A case of a patient with an atopic dermatitis background who evolved towards a Hyde's Nodular Prurigus is presented, including its therapeutic management and a brief bibliographic revisión of the subject.
