Abstract

COMPENDIO

ABSTRACT

The pollen morphology of nine species of Loasaceae that grow in Venezuelawas studied with the objective to determine the characters of value diagnosis. The traditional procedure of acetolysis was made in order to obtain the grainsizes and forms, showing prolate-spheroidal, subprolate and prolate grains. Theornamentation obtaining exina was observed in the scanning electron microscopyobtaining three types: microechinate, striato-reticulate and bireticulate. Most ofthe species present tricolporate grains, being able to also find grains tricolpate.
