LA TOLERANCIA COMO VIRTUD PÚBLICA Y POLÍTICA. UNA APROXIMACIÓN AL PENSAMIENTO DE CARLOS THIEBAUT Y MICHAEL WALZER

Abstract

En este ensayo se mostrarán las nociones sobre tolerancia como virtud pública y política, producto de las nuevas reflexiones e interpretaciones filosóficas llevadas a cabo por Carlos Thiebaut y Michael Walzer. Ambos autores colocan el concepto "tolerancia" en el debate político como valor fundamental de las sociedades modernas, diversas culturalmente, que requieren planteamientos nuevos e innovadores para afrontar los retos de la práctica política. Es allí donde la tolerancia juega un papel fundamental.

Abstract: In this essay we show the notions about tolerance as public and political virtues, product of new thinking and philosophical interpretations by Carlos Thiebaut and Michael Walzer. Both authors debate the concept of "tolerance" as a fundamental value of modern societies, culturaly diverse, wich requires new and innovative approaches to meet the challenges of political practice. This is where tolerance plays a key role.
