Resumo

El Síndrome de Steven-Johnson (SSJ) es una reacción adversa medicamentosa que afecta piel y mucosas. Se caracteriza por presentar placas eritemato violáceas, ampollas y erosiones generalizadas en 10% de la superficie corporal, con afectación de al menos dos mucosas. Se considera severo cuando afecta más del 30% de la superficie corporal. Se presenta serie fotográfica de paciente femenina de 42 años de edad con antecedente de trastorno bipolar; quien presentó SSJ una semana posterior al inicio de tratamiento con lamotrigina y carbamazepina, en aproximadamente el 45% de su superficie corporal.


 


Steven-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is an adverse drug reaction that affects the skin and mucous membranes. It is characterized by violaceous erythematous plaques, blisters and generalized erosions in 10% of the body surface, with involvement of at least two mucous membranes. It is considered severe when it affects more than 30% of the body surface. A photographic series of a 42-year-old female patient with a history of bipolar disorder is presented; who presented SJS one week after starting treatment with lamotrigine and carbamazepine, in approximately 45% of her body surface.
