| Abstract: | La manga gástrica ha ganado popularidad entre los cirujanos por menor complejidad, menor tiempo operatorio, y buenos resultados en pérdida de peso y resolución de comorbilidades. Objetivos: Comparar la calidad de vida y síntomas digestivos de pacientes sometidos a gastrectomía vertical con los sometidos a bypass gástrico. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo tipo cohorte, aplicando escalas Giqoli y Sf-36 a ambos grupos. Lugar: Hospital Dr. Domingo Luciani, Caracas, Venezuela, entre agosto del 2008 y agosto 2011. Resultados: Se incluyeron 30 pacientes con manga gástrica y 30 pacientes con Bypass gástrico. El puntaje Giqoli fue 123 ± 12 en manga y 116 ± 14 en bypass (P=0,028) siendo estadísticamente significativo, a expensas de los síntomas digestivos (P=0,045). En Sf36, la vitalidad fue superior en el bypass gástrico en comparación con los de manga gástrica (P=0,025). Conclusión: Los pacientes sometidos manga gástrica muestran puntuaciones de calidad de vida gastrointestinal mayores que el bypass gástrico. |
| Description: | Sleve gastrectomy has won popularity between surgeons by less complexity, less operative time and resolution of comorbilities. Objectives: compare quality of life and digestive symptoms in patients with vertical gastrectomy and patients with gastric bypass. Methods: descriptive study, type cohort, applying scales giqoli and sf-36, to both groups. Place: Dr. Domingo Luciani Hospital, Caracas, Venezuela, Between August 2008 and August 2011. Results: were included 30 patients with vertical gastrectomy and 30 patients with gastric bypass. The score Giqoli was 123 ± 12 in vertical gastrectomy and 116 ± 14 in bypass (P = 0,028) being significant stactistically, at the expense of digestives symptoms (P = 0,045). In sf – 36, the vitality exceeded in the gastric bypass compared with the patients of sleeve gastric (P = 0,025). Conclusions: the patients with sleeve gastric have higher scores of gastrointestinal quality of life than patients with gastric bypass. |
