| Abstract: | In an area of high population growth as the state of Vargas, boost information in order to develop scenarios of environmental risk,
geotechnology is applied to ensure the validity and location of the retrieved data in the field. In this context, a study was conducted in the La Zorra watershed, Tacagua, and Mamo, the most densely populated section in the central coast. Building a geographic information system to manage
data in the study area in order to produce spatial analysis leading to the
generation of a map of urban vulnerability. This makes a change detection
with Landsat images from different years to identify areas with significant
changes. Subsequently, the digital mapping coverage of urban over-and
IKONOS satellite data combined with the map of hydrometeorological
threat to select critical areas. The information collected within the structures
of the critical areas are located using Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Finally, this procedure allowed us to identify the levels of damage to
buildings that may suffer when an extraordinary event (torrential avalanche)
and to establish areas with different degrees of vulnerability. |
