Wittgenstein y la crítica a la “civilización” de su tiempo

Abstract

The so-called “second” Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy highlights the practical and social nature of language. Such character stems from and is organically related to the society that speak and use a language. Our question is whether that “organicity” does not compromise the possibility of criticism to that society. In that way, we approach the first version of the Philosophical Investigations foreword in which Wittgenstein says, after criticizing the civilization of his time: “this is not a value judgment”. Our text will try to deepen this assertion. Resumen: La así llamada “segunda” filosofía de Ludwig Wittgenstein destaca el carácter práctico y social del lenguaje. Tal carácter deriva y se relaciona orgánicamente con la sociedad que habla y usa ese lenguaje. Nuestra pregunta es si esa “organicidad” no compromete la posibilidad de crítica a esa sociedad. Para eso abordamos la primera versión del prólogo de las Investigaciones filosóficas donde, después de criticar a la civilización de su época, Wittgenstein afirma: “esto no es un juicio de valor”. Nuestro texto intentará profundizar esa afirmación.
