Variaciones de la irrigación del arco palmar superficial. Variations on the superficial palmar arch irrigation.

Abstract

RESUMEN La vascularización superficial de la mano se encuentra garantizada por ramos del arco palmar superficial, formado por la anastomosis existente entre la arteria palmar superficial y la arteria ulnar. El objetivo de la investigación es la descripción de las presentaciones de diferentes variaciones morfológicas de los ramos del arco palmar superficial para así ampliar la información existente al respecto. Se disecaron 40 regiones palmares de fetos venezolanos entre 25 y 39 semanas de edad gestacional, previamente perfundidos con vinil rojo y luego cuidadosamente disecados, arrojando los siguientes resultados: 1) En 55% de las regiones disecadas (22 casos), la vascularización es dada por un ramo palmar profundo proveniente de la arteria ulnar y un ramo de la arteria radial; 2)La arteria ulnar asegura la irrigación de la región en el 40%; 3) la presencia de ambas arterias con ausencia del arco palmar superficial fueron halladas en 5% de los casos. SUMMARY Superficial vascularization of the hand is guaranteed by branches of the superficial palmar arch, formed by the anastomosis between the superficial palmar artery and ulnar artery. The objective of this research is the description of the presentations of different morphological variations of the branches of superficial palmar arch thus extending the existing information. 40 palmar regions were dissected from Venezuelan fetuses between 25 and 39 gestacional weeks , red vynil perfused and then carefully dissected, the following results were observed: 1) In 55% of the dissected regions (22 cases),vascularization is given by a branch from the deep palmar coming from ulnar artery and a branch from radial artery, 2) the ulnar artery gives blood supply to the region in 40%, 3) the presence of both arteries in the absence of the superficial palmar arch were found in 5% of cases.
