| Abstract: | In different fields of engineering, the finite element (FEM) and the boundary element methods (BEM) are use frequently as powerful tools of analysis, and the FEM-BEM coupling has been topic of great interest along two decades. Each of this methods have his specific areas of application, the FEM is adequate for analysis of finites domains with non-homogenous and non-lineal behavior, while the BEM offers advantages in the analysis of infinites domains with homogenous material and lineal behavior. The system of resultants equations to resolve the coupling problem is obtained using the equation of boundary elements, the equation of the finite element and the expressions of virtual work. The formulation of finite element and boundary element could be used to make the coupling and implement it in a computational code in which are implemented the calculations of each sub-domain separated, successively the variants are renewed of each sub-domain until the convergence. In the present work are showed the obtained results in implementing this coupling in a Fortran code for simulation of biological process. |
