América Latina en el siglo XXI, ¿giro a la izquierda? Un intento de balance a una década (2000-2016) en el poder de Hugo Chávez y Lula Da Silva

Abstract

A inicios del siglo XXI, sucede un fenómeno particular en América Latina, y es que muchos gobiernos electos de forma democrática se identifican de manera abierta con la izquierda, algo impensable en el siglo XX. Sin embargo no son movimientos homogéneos como pareciera, es así que usando como ejemplo los gobiernos de Hugo Chávez y Luis Ignacio Lula Da Silva se hará una comparación para demostrar que se puede identificar dos izquierdas, una llamada moderna y otra más ortodoxa-autoritaria. Cuyas principal característica es que una es más proclive a ser democrática y la otra en cambio tiende desencadenar un gobierno de tipo autoritario. Abstract: At the beginning of the 21st century, a particular phenomenon occurs in Latin America, is that many democratically elected governments openly identify with the left, something unthinkable in the 20th century. However, they are not homogeneous movements as they seem, so using the governments of Hugo Chávez and Luis Ignacio Lula Da Silva as an example, a comparison will be made to show that two left-wing groups can be identified, one called modern and another more orthodox-authoritarian. Whose main characteristic is that one is more likely to be democratic and the other tends to unleash an authoritarian government.
