| dc.description.sponsorship | To evaluate the usefulness of virtual cystoscopy in the evaluation and follow-up of patients with bladder cancer in the urology service of the Hospital Oncology Service of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security from January 2018 to March 2019. Methods: A correlational investigation was carried out. , descriptive, prospective. Results: 16 patients with bladder cancer were evaluated, the majority were female, 14 (87.5%) and the age of the sample was 69 ± 10 years; Regarding histological diagnosis, 13 (81.3%) were low-grade papillary urothelial carcinomas, 1 (6.3%) were high-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma, 1 (6.3%) infiltrating high-grade papillary utothelial carcinoma and 1 (6.3%) was G2 papillary urothelial carcinoma. In the treatments provided, all received TURB, 4 (25%) intravesical BCG, 2 (12.5%) mitomycin, and 1 (6.3%) taxol. The maximum tolerated air capacity was 345 ± 35 cm3. Concordance between virtual cystoscopy and the corresponding optical test was evaluated; the kappa coefficient value was 0.750 (p = 0.002). Regarding the diagnostic values of virtual cystoscopy, the sensitivity was 100%, which corresponded to a positive predictive value of 75%, on the other hand, the specificity of the test was 80%, which detected 100% of healthy patients (predictive value negative) | en_US |
