| Abstract: | En el presente trabajo se reportan los resultados logrados por estudiantes chilenos de octavo de Educación Básica al realizar tareas de construcción de tablas estadísticas. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó un cuestionario, el cual fue validado por juicio de experto, donde se evalúan distintos niveles de complejidad semiótica de tablas estadística que logran estudiantes de Educación Básica. En la investigación participaron 26 estudiantes de octavo año de Educación Básica de Chile, realizando un análisis de contenido a las respuestas entregadas. Los resultados evidencian que los estudiantes participantes en la muestra no han logrado desarrollar las habilidades que les permitan realizar las tareas de construir, completar y traducir información a una tabla estadística, esto a pesar de encontrarse cursando el último año del nivel educativo y haber estudiado los contenidos relacionados con tablas estadísticas durante los ocho años que dura este período. |
| Description: | This paper reports the results achieved by Chilean students in the eighth grade of elementary school when performing statistical table construction tasks. A questionnaire was used for data collection, which was validated by expert judgment, where different levels of semiotic complexity of statistical tables achieved by elementary school students are evaluated. Twenty-six eighth grade elementary school students from Chile participated in the research, carrying out a content analysis of the answers given. The results show that the students participating in the sample have not been able to develop the skills that allow them to per-form the tasks of constructing, completing and translating information into a statistical table, despite being in the last year of the educational level and having dealt with contents related to statistical tables during the eight years of this period. |
