| Abstract: | En este artículo se analizan algunos de los costos de la ciencia vinculados a su infoestructura y el desarrollo del
movimiento de acceso abierto como impulsor de cambios en el proceso de publicación de investigaciones y de las
editoriales científicas que se han visto obligadas a proporcionar a sus lectores acceso gratuito de un porcentaje de sus
colecciones, por esa razón, para sustentar la publicación de las revistas en acceso abierto las editoriales han generados
modelos de negocios alternos o híbridos a las suscripciones. Se concluye con una visión positiva para las universidades
por el fortalecimiento del acceso abierto y su incidencia para disminuir la brecha de acceso al conocimiento y participar
más activamente en el ciclo productivo de la ciencia |
| Description: | This article analyzes some of the costs of science linked to its infostructure and the development of the open access
movement as a driver of changes in the process of publishing research and scientific publishers, which have been forced
to provide their readers have free access to a percentage of their collections, for that reason, to support the publication of
open access journals, publishers have generated alternative or hybrid business models for subscriptions. It concludes with
a positive vision for universities for the strengthening of open access and its incidence to reduce the gap in access to
knowledge and participate more actively in the productive cycle of science. |
