| Abstract: | Es determinar la relación entre los valores de lactato en sangre y la fase evolutiva de la apendicitis aguda en pacientes ingresados en la emergencia del Hospital General del Este Dr. Domingo Luciani en el periodo de febrero 2013 hasta julio 2013. Métodos: La muestra está conformada por pacientes ingresados en la emergencia del Hospital General del Este Dr. Domingo Luciani con impresión
diagnóstica de apendicitis aguda en el periodo de febrero de 2013 – julio 2013 a los cuales se les medirá los niveles de lactato en sangre por medio de gasometría arterial. No se incluirán en el estudio pacientes menores de 15 años de edad, con
diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus e hipertensión arterial, hallazgos operatorios diferentes a apendicitis aguda, embarazadas, intolerancia a la vía oral o síndromes eméticos y pacientes ingresados en la institución con diagnostico diferente a apendicitis aguda. Resultados: la muestra fue de 67 pacientes, la media de edad
fue de 27 años y la edad con mayor frecuencia fue de 15 años; 38(57%) femeninas y 29(43%) masculinos. Los resultados de la biopsia se distribuyeron con 11(16.5%) pacientes en fase catarral, 25(27.4%) flegmonosas, 18(26,9%)
gangrenosas, 4(5.9%) con hiperplasia linfoidea, 8(11.9%) perforadas y 1(1,4%) sin evidencia de lesiones. Las mediciones de lactato normal se detectó en 5 54(81%) de los pacientes y alto en 13(19%). Discusión: El lactato no es una
prueba de laboratorio que nos permita predecir la fase de la apendicitis aguda debido a que los resultados obtenidos en la muestra no demostraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas. |
| Description: | Determining the relationship between blood lactate values and the developmental stage of acute appendicitis in patients admitted to the emergency Hospital General del Este Dr. Domingo Luciani in the period from February 2013 to July 2013. Methods: The sample consists of patients admitted to the emergency of Hospital General del Este Dr. Domingo Luciani with diagnostic impression of acute appendicitis in the period February 2013 - July 2013 to which it will be measured lactate levels in blood Average blood gas. Not be included in patients under study of 15 years of age, diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and hypertension, different operative findings in acute appendicitis, pregnant, intolerance to oral or emetic syndromes and patients admitted to the institution with a different diagnosis to acute appendicitis. Results: The sample consisted of 67 patients, the mean age was 27 years and the most common age was 15 years, 38 (57 %) female and 29 (43%) male. The biopsy results were distributed with 11 ( 6 16.5 % ) patients in catarrhal stage , 25 ( 27.4 %) phlegmonous, 18 ( 26.9%) gangrenous , 4 (5.9 % ) with lymphoid hyperplasia , 8 (11.9 % ) and perforated and 1 (1.4 % ) with no evidence of damage. Normal measurements of lactate was detected in 54 (81 %) patients, and high in 13 (19%). Discussion: Lactate is not a laboratory test that allows us to predict the phase of acute appendicitis because the results of the sample showed no statistically significant differences. |
