La Participación de los Medios Extranjeros Durante el Referendum Consultivo del año 2007

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo de grado, se inscribe en el área de comunicación audiovisual Se trata de examinar la participación de los medios internacionales en el proceso electoral del Referéndum Consultivo del 2 de diciembre del año 2007, para elaborar un documento audiovisual que permita presentar la interpretación de los corresponsales internacionales, acreditados en Venezuela, de un evento político que se transformó en un hecho noticioso relevante. De esa manera se intenta mostrar las perspectivas, el uso de las imágenes y la concepción informativa característica de los medios extranjeros seleccionados, para cubrir el proceso refrendario mencionado. Es necesario agregar que los medios audiovisuales internacionales otorgaron al Referendo Consultivo de diciembre del año 2007, destacada consideración, por cuanto apreciaron que en el país se enfrentaban dos concepciones acerca del modelo de sociedad debido al propósito del Presidente Hugo Chávez, para legitimar su Proyecto de socialismo del Siglo XXI, mediante la Reforma de la Constitución Nacional, vigente desde el año 1999. En ese sentido, se elaborará un documento audiovisual, para presentar la interpretación de los corresponsales internacionales en Venezuela, ante un hecho político trascendente.

The following thesis of degree falls in the area of mass communications. It examines the participation of the international media in the electoral process of the Consultative Referendum of December 2, 2007. To elaborate this audiovisual document we took into account the interpretation of high regarded international correspondents that are well credited in Venezuela about how this political event became such an important issue for the news. With the use of different images, and by taking into account a variety of perspectives, that the foreign media had, we tried to cover their vision and opinion of this particular electoral process. It is necessary to add that the international mass media offered to the Consultative Referendum of December 2007, an important and noticeable space in their news, since they were aware that Venezuela was in the process of choosing between two different ideas or conception of how their society would work and be structured. The president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez submitted one of the two conceptions because he wanted to legitimize his Socialism Project of the 21st century, by restructuring the Venezuelan Constitution of 1999. In that sense will devise an audiovisual document, to present the interpretation of the international correspondents in Venezuela, of this significant political fact.
