| Abstract: | La Inversión Extranjera en Venezuela está relacionada con la expansión del capitalismo y la exportación de capitales ocurridos durante el siglo XIX, cuando desde Europa se consideraba el territorio de América Latina como un escenario de posibilidades de desarrollo económico. En Venezuela la dinámica generada por la economía cafetalera desde mediados del siglo XIX permite la presencia de Casas Comerciales Extranjeras, las cuales esencialmente se encargaban de colocar en los mercados extranjeros el café venezolano. Posteriormente, la inversión extranjera se incrementa y cambia con la explotación petrolera, actividad que defi ne la orientación de la economía venezolana desde la segunda década del siglo XX, en este contexto, Venezuela se convirtió en un destino de la inversión europea y norteamericana, particularmente en el periodo que comprende el fi n de la II Guerra Mundial hasta la década de los setenta cuando el Estado se reserva el derecho exclusivo de inversión en sectores estratégicos tales como el sector petrolero, minas y servicios. |
| Description: | Foreign investment in Venezuela is related to the expansion of capitalism and the export of capital that occurred during the nineteenth century, when Europe was considered from the territory of Latin America, as a stage of economic development opportunities. In Venezuela the dynamics generated by the coff ee economy since the mid-nineteenth century allows the presence of commercial investment, which essentially took care to place in foreign markets Venezuelan coff ee. Subsequently foreign investment increases and changes with oil exploration, an activity that defi nes the orientation of the Venezuelan economy since the second decade of the twentieth century, in this context, Venezuela became a destination for European and American investment, particularly in the period covered by the end of the II World War until the early seventies when the State reserves the exclusive right investment in strategic sectors such as the oil industry, mining and services. |
