| Abstract: | Este trabajo analiza la relación entre los aportes en Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación realizados por el Estado venezolano y la producción científica expresada en el porcentaje de artículos publicados en revistas especializadas de alto impacto registradas en la Base de Datos Scopus e incluidos como producción total de América Latina y el Caribe. También, en la aprobación de patentes, según los datos reportados por organismos internacionales que llevan estos registros. Para el análisis se tomaron los datos disponibles desde 1996 hasta el año 2014 en los documentos oficiales y portales autorizados de organismos multilaterales. Como resultado, se evidencia que para el caso venezolano existe una relación inversamente proporcional entre el aporte del PIB para Ciencia y Tecnología y la producción científica en Venezuela. |
| Description: | This study analyzes the relationship between contributions in Science, Technology and Innovation made by the Venezuelan State and scientific production as expressed in the percentage of articles published in high impact specialized journals included in the Scopus Database as the total production of Latin American and Caribbean countries. Also, patent registration according to data reported by international agencies that compile these records has been included. In terms of the analysis, available data from 1996 to 2014 were taken from official documents and official portals of multilateral agencies. As a result, evidence has been found that for the case of Venezuelan an inverse relationship between the contribution of GDP for Science and Technology and scientific production in Venezuela exists. |
