| dc.description.abstract | La inmunocitopatía monoclonal tipo IgM (Macroglobulinemia de Waldestrom) es una neoplasia maligna del sistema lintoide. Factores genéticos, virales y de hiper-estimulación antigénica han sido implicados en la etiopatogenia de esta enfermedad. El cuadro clínico es proteiforme y sistémico: la inmunodeficiencia humoral (hipoyammaglobulinemia) la cual incrementa la susceptibilidad a infecciones así como la hiperviscosidad causad a por la hipergammaglobulinemia monoclonal son las principales causas de muerte en estos pacientes. El diagnóstico se plantea en base a los hallazgos clínicos y se establece con la biopsia de médula ósea y los estudios serológicos que llevan a la identificación y caracterización de la proteína anormal. El tratamiento va dirigido a la eliminación de la proteína mediante la plasmaféresis y a la inhibición del proceso de división celular con la aplicación de la quimioterapia. SUMMARY The IgM type Monoclonal immunocitopathy (Waldestrom Hypergammaglobulinemia ) is a rnalignant neoplasia of the Iymphoid system. In which genetic viral and overt antigenic stimuli may play a roll in its etiopathogenesis. The clinical picture is protean and systemic: the humoral immunodeficient state (Hipogammaglobulinemia) which predispose to bacterial infections and hiperviscocity caused by the monoclonal hypergammaglobulinemia are whithin the main causes of death. The diagnosis can be suspected on clinical grounds and can be established by the bone marrow biopsy and the serological studies which can identify and characterized the abnormal protein. The therapy is directed to remove the high concentration of the abnormal protein by the plasma pheresis and t o inhibit the synthesis by the application of Quemotherapy. | en_US |
