Abstract

Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic, immune-mediated enteropathy precipitated by exposure to gluten in genetically susceptible individuals who carry the HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8 haplotype, with a mean age of diagnosis of 45 years, which can course from asymptomatic, with the only manifestation of thrombotic events associated or not with primary thrombophilia, before diagnosis. For this reason, we found the presentation of this case interesting.
