Manejo de Medicago sativa Linnaeus 1753 a través del uso de cultivares resistentes a áfidos en la región del sudoeste bonaerense
Abstract
The continuous use of synthetic insecticides can generate several long-term problems. This situation leads to a permanent search for alternative methods of control. In this study were assessed the resistance of cultivars of Medicago sativa L. to adults of Acyrthosiphon pisum H., Aphis craccivora K. and Therioaphis trifolii M. (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Twenty-three cultivars of M. sativa were evaluated for their antixenosis and antibiosis resistance and tolerance. Resistant varieties Armona and CW 830 have levels of resistance and tolerance to the three aphids´ species. Therefore, these cultivars could be used in M. sativa producing areas in integrated aphids management to reduce the application of synthetic insecticides
