El texto analiza los orígenes y evolución del fenómeno terrorista, desde sus raíces históricas en movimientos como los Sicarii judíos, los asesinos ismaelíes y los Thugs de la India, hasta las principales oleadas del terrorismo moderno: anarquista, anticolonial, de la nueva izquierda y religioso-islamista. Se destaca el uso del terror y la violencia como métodos de dominación y desestabilización, así como el papel de la máscara y los rituales en algunas organizaciones terroristas. Finalmente, se analiza el terrorismo de raíz islamista, con su retórica maximalista y su justificación de la yihad como deber religioso. The text analyzes the origins and evolution of the terrorist phenomenon, from its historical roots in movements such as the Jewish Sicarii, the Ismaili assassins, and the Thugs of India, to the main waves of modern terrorism: anarchist, anti-colonial, new left, and religious-Islamist. It highlights the use of terror and violence as methods of domination and destabilization, as well as the role of masks and rituals in some terrorist organizations. Finally, it analyzes Islamist-rooted terrorism, with its maximalist rhetoric and its justification of jihad as a religious duty.
