| Abstract: | El espacio público urbano, uno de los dos tipos de espacios que forman la estructura física de las ciudades, históricamente ha propiciado la socialización y la expresión de los s humanos, pero, diversos cambios ocurridos en las ciudades lo han ido alterando, afectando también la vida pública urbana. En consecuencia, deben formularse alternativas de valor social, espacial y cultural de los espacios públicos especialmente en aquellas áreas periféricas donde se localizan las poblaciones más pobres, con los niveles de vida más bajos y las mayores dificultades para incorporarse a la sociedad urbana, lo que lleva a repensar la creación, consolidación, sostenibilidad y gestión concertada de estos espacios, intentando proveer a sus habitantes de las herramientas necesarias para transformarlos en parte activa y productiva de la ciudad. Esta investigación busca establecer concertadamente con las comunidades pautas y normativas comunitarias sostenibles para transformar el espacio público en los asentamientos precarios urbanos, que sirvan como eje de una nueva visión política para abordar el espacio público en estas áreas, y fortalecer una cultura ciudadana, dirigida a lograr una estructura formal, funcional y espacial, que impactaría positivamente en la imagen de estos asentamientos, lo que permitiría, prever, disponer y reservar áreas cuyo potencial como futuro espacio público esté acorde a las necesidades sentidas por la mayoría de los habitantes, contribuyendo así, a crear una estructura urbana acorde con el proceso de crecimiento y desarrollo, hacia la futura rehabilitación del espacio barrio, y en consecuencia, de nuestras ciudades. |
| Description: | The urban public space, one of the two types of spaces that form the physical structure of the cities, historically has favored the socialization and the expression of the human beings, but, diverse changes occurred in the cities have also altered, and affected the public urban life. Consequently, alternatives of cultural, spatial, and social value of the public spaces should be formulated, especially in those peripheral areas where the poorest populations are located, with the lowest standards of living, and the greater difficulties to be incorporated to the urban society. This bring us to rethink in the creation, consolidation, sustainability and arranged management of these spaces, trying to provide its inhabitants of the necessary tools to transform them into an active and productive part of the city. This investigation endeavors to methodically establish with the communities’ guidelines, and sustainable common regulations to transform the public space in the urban precarious settlements. This would serve as axis to a new political vision to undertake the public space in these areas, and to fortify a civic culture, directed to achieve a spatial, functional, and formal structure, that would impact positively on the image of these settlements, and would also permit, to predict, to arrange and to reserve areas whose potential as future public space be harmonious to the needs felt by the majority of the inhabitants, thus contributing to create a urban structure accordant with the process of growth and development, toward the future rehabilitation of the space neighborhood, and consequently, of our cities. |
