| Abstract: | Objetivo: Fundamentar la creación de una cátedra para la enseñanza de la Bioética en los estudios del pregrado médico en la EMJMV. Métodos:investigación mixta, observacional, documental y de campo. Se relacionaron observaciones directas del investigador con la opinión de estudiantes obtenidas en conversación con cada uno. Se revisaron el plan de estudios y los programas de las asignaturas y se comparó con diferentes corrientes docentes en la enseñanza de la bioética en otros países. Además, se realizaron encuestas de 25 preguntas dicotómicas sobre moral, ética, bioética, bioderecho y biojurídica a los docentes y estudiantes seleccionados de forma aleatoria y que cumplieran los criterios de inclusión.Resultados:Las observación del autor relacionado con la opinión de los estudiantes indicó que se sienten competentes y bien formados en ciencias básicas y niveles de clínicas, pero desconocen los aspectos éticos y legales lo que les ocasiona angustia por su cercano porvenir laboral. Se encontró que solo se dictan en la carrera 30 horas con contenido bioético. La encuesta a los docentes arrojó que 100% respondió correctamente a las preguntas relacionadas con la moral, 36% respondió de acuerdo a lo esperado en lo relacionado con bioética y 57% dieron respuestas acertadas en lo relacionado con bioderecho. Los estudiantes respondieron en un 80, 48 y 50% en estas áreas. Conclusión: Existen fundamentos necesarios para la creación de una Cátedra de Bioética en la EMJMV, dirigida al estudiantado del pregrado médico, acorde con la tendencia mundial actual en relación a la enseñanza de esta disciplina. Objective: To base the creation of a chair for the teaching of Bioethics in the studies of the medical undergraduate in the EMJMV. Methods: mixed, observational, documentary and field research. Direct observations of the researcher were related to the opinion of students obtained in conversation with each one. The curriculum and subject programs were reviewed and compared with different teaching trends in the teaching of bioethics in other countries. In addition, surveys of 25 dichotomous questions on moral, ethics, bioethics, bio-law and biojury were conducted to randomly selected teachers and students who met the inclusion criteria. Results: The author's observations related to the opinion of the students indicated they feel competent and well trained in basic sciences and clinic levels, but they do not know the ethical and legal aspects that cause them anguish for their near future work. It was found that only 30 hours with bioethical content are dictated in the race. The survey of teachers showed that 100% responded correctly to questions related to morality, 36% responded according to expectations regarding bioethics and 57% gave correct answers regarding bio-rights. Students responded in 80, 48 and 50% in these areas. Conclusion: There are necessary foundations for the creation of a Chair of Bioethics in the EMJMV, aimed at students of medical undergraduate, in accordance with the current global trend in relation to the teaching of this discipline.
