Indicadores neuropsicológicos, estrategias de afrontamiento y rendimiento académico según estrato socioeconómico en escolares entre 8 y 11 años del Estado Táchira.

Abstract

Resumen El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo conocer la relación entre los indicadores neuropsicológicos obtenidos por el Cuestionario de Madurez Neuropsicológica Escolar (CUMANES), las estrategias de afrontamiento productivas e improductivas y el rendimiento académico, según el estrato socioeconómico de escolares entre 8 y 11 años, del Estado Táchira. Se utilizó una muestra de 28 niños escolarizados de dos instituciones, de procedencia rural y urbana; la cual se clasificó entre los estratos I al IV, correspondiente a la escala de Graffar. Fue una investigación correlacional, de campo y fáctica; se aplicó entrevista a los padres, CUMANES, escala de afrontamiento para niños (EAN), y el Test de la persona bajo la lluvia para conocer los indicadores emociones en el afrontamiento, como medida de rendimiento se consideró las notas del último curso escolar. Para el análisis de los resultados se empleó el estadístico SPSS 19, se obtuvieron estadísticos descriptivos y de correlación de Pearson. Los resultados arrojaron una correlación entre el Índice de desarrollo Neuropsicológico y el Rendimiento académico, este último con los indicadores de Lectoescritura; dentro de los Estratos, el indicador de Memoria visual y Ritmo, muestran correlaciones significativas con el rendimiento. En cuanto al afrontamiento, se encontró que a mayor estrato socioeconómico, hay mayor probabilidad en el uso afrontamiento productivo que improductivo, sin mostrar correlaciones con las variables de estudio. Estudios posteriores deben indagar más sobre estas variables en el ámbito escolar, considerando los indicadores de memoria visual y ritmo.Abstract This study aimed to know the relationship between neuropsychological indicators obtained by the Questionnaire Neuropsychological Maturity School (CUMANES), strategies of productive and nonproductive coping and academic performance, according to the socioeconomic status of students between 8 and 11 years from Táchira. A sample of 28 school children from two institutions, rural and urban origin; which were laminated between layers I and IV, corresponding to the scale of Graffar. It was a correlational research, field and factual; it were used the interview was applied to parents, CUMANES, a coping scale for children (EAN), and the test of the person under the rain, to meet the emotions in coping indicators and as a measure of performance notes last school year was considered. For analysis of the results the statistical was used SPSS 19, and descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results showed a correlation between the index Neuropsychological development and academic performance, the latter with Literacy indicators; within strata, the visual indicator Memory and Rhythm showed significant correlations with academic performance. As for coping, it was found that the higher the socioeconomic status, are more likely use unproductive productive than confrontation, showing no correlations with the study variables. Further studies should investigate more about these variables at the school level, considering the indicators of visual memory and rhythm.
