Indicadores de psicopatía y agresividad en estudiantes en formación policial de ambos sexos.

Abstract

Diferentes problemáticas de los cuerpos policiales en Venezuela, señalan la necesidad de realizar investigaciones, para entender los diversos elementos que pueden estar influyendo en el aumento del delito e intentar implementar medidas que conlleven al mejoramiento de sus funciones. La presente investigación tiene como finalidad, evaluar indicadores de psicopatía y agresividad en estudiantes en formación policial de ambos sexos. La muestra estuvo conformada por sujetos del mismo nivel educativo, entre 18 y 23 años, a quienes se les administró el psicodiagnóstico de Rorschach y la Lista de Chequeo de Psicopatía de Hare-Revisada (PCL-R). Se encontró indicadores de agresividad y rasgos defensivos de psicopatía, pero no cumplen los criterios diagnósticos para un trastorno. No hubo diferencias importantes entre sexos. Finalmente, existen características de los participantes que pudiesen llegar a interferir en el adecuado ejercicio de sus funciones. ABSTRACT Different problems of police forces in Venezuela, highlight the need for research to understand the various elements that may be contributing to the increase in crime and try to implement measures that entail the improvement of their duties. This research aims to evaluate indicators of psychopathy and aggression in police training students of both sexes. The sample was conformed by subjects of the same educational level, between 18 and 23 years who were administered the Rorschach and Psychopathy Checklist-Revised of Hare (PCLR). We found indicators of aggressiveness and defensive traits of psychopathy, but do not fulfill the diagnostic criteria for a disorder. There were no significant differences between sexes. Finally, there are characteristics of participants that might cause interference with the proper performance of their duties.
