Paternidad y construcción social de la masculinidad en la adolescencia.

Abstract

Se plantea la aproximación al fenómeno de la paternidad adolescente desde el marco interpretativo de la perspectiva de género y el enfoque psicosocial. Se plantea explorar los significados y prácticas en torno a la paternidad y la construcción social de la masculinidad, desde la vivencia particular de un grupo de padres adolescentes residentes de sectores populares de Caracas. Se empleó metodología cualitativa. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas, la metodología de análisis de datos utilizada fue la teoría fundamentada. La investigación nos sitúa frente a la existencia de múltiples elementos y condiciones simbólicas, estructurales, y afectivas que configuran las prácticas cotidianas de los hombres adolescentes. Específicamente en el marco de las dinámicas asociadas al ejercicio de la paternidad en este período del ciclo vital, la construcción social de género constituye un elemento fundamental.

FATHERHOOD AND SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION OF GENDER IN ADOLESCENCE Abstract The following is an approach to teenage parenthood from gender and social psychology. It arises explore the meanings and practices associated with parenthood and the social construction of masculine gender, taking into consideration the particular experience of a group of teenage parents living in disadvantaged neighborhoods in the city of Caracas. It was used qualitative methodology. In this sense, semi-structured interviews were conducted and the data analysis methodology used was Grounded Theory. The research confronts us with the existence of multiple elements and symbolic, structural, and emotional conditions that shape the everyday practices of adolescent males. Specifically, in the context of the dynamics associated with the exercise of parenthood in the period of adolescence, the social construction of gender is a fundamental element.
