Efectos del programa de intervención conductual "cuidando al cuidador" sobre la ansiedad y depresión en cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos del complejo hemato-oncológico y de radiaocirugía Dr. Domingo Luciani.

Abstract

En la actualidad el cáncer representa la segunda causa de muerte a nivel mundial y Venezuela no escapa a esta realidad. Durante años han sido innumerables los estudios, que han comprobado como la ansiedad y la depresión afectan al paciente y a sus cuidadores, generando como consecuencia deterioro en su salud no sólo física sino también psicológica. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar los efectos del programa “Cuidando al Cuidador” sobre la ansiedad y depresión en cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos, el cual se basó en la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso (ACT) y en la Terapia de Solución de Problemas (PST). En el mismo participaron 14 cuidadores de pacientes del Complejo Hemato-Oncológico y de Radiocirugía Dr. Domingo Luciani. Se utilizó la Escala de Ansiedad y Depresión Hospitalaria (HAD), encontrándose diferencias significativas para el indicador de Ansiedad y una reducción en los puntajes individuales en el indicador de Depresión, demostrando que el programa fue efectivo para la disminución en los niveles de dichos indicadores; además de la valoración social otorgada por los participantes quienes lo consideraron pertinente y efectivo para continuar su tarea como cuidadores.

For years, there have been innumerable studies that have identified the way in which variables such as anxiety and depression affect both the patient and their caregivers, resulting in deterioration in their health not only physical but also psychological. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the "Caring for the Caregiver" program on anxiety and depression in caregivers of cancer patients, which was based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Problem Solving Therapy (PST). In the same study participated 14 caregivers of patients of the Complex Hemato-Oncológico and Radiosurgery Dr. Domingo Luciani. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) was used, with significant differences for the Anxiety indicator and a reduction in the individual scores in the Depression indicator, showing that the program was effective for the decrease in the levels of these indicators; In addition to the social assessment given by the participants who considered it relevant and effective to continue their task as caregivers.
