| Abstract: | La obra esculpida por Alejandro Colina, María Lionza, llegó a elevar su mirada hacia el cielo tras resquebrajarse en su cintura, en la mañana del 6 de junio, mientras las partes involucradas de su cuidado trataban de salvar su culpa en el incidente. Después de meses de controversias respecto al lugar en el cual debía ser colocada la escultura.
Como se recordará, a finales del año 2003 se colocaron andamios alrededor de la obra en vista de que Fundapatrimonio, esto ante la tardanza en la decisión por parte del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia. La escultura ya sido restaurada por La UCV, todo esto ante la polémica relacionada no sólo con quién tiene mayor cuota de culpa en el hecho, sino con el lugar en el cual esta reposara finalmente.
