Las influencias de la época contemporánea en la práctica cotidiana de la geografía escolar

Resumen

El propósito es analizar la forma como los acontecimientos del inicio del nuevo milenio han influido en la geografía escolar, facilitada en la práctica diaria del aula de clase. Se asume el escenario sociohistórico del mundo contemporáneo como referencia para considerar la acción formativa de la enseñanza geográfica de los ciudadanos. Sin embargo, su tarea se dificulta por la vigencia de los fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos propuestos en el siglo XIX. Esta situación motivó metodológicamente realizar una revisión documental que facilitó estructurar un planteamiento sobre la situación epistémica y formativa de la geografía escolar y las influencias de la época actual en su labor pedagógica. El análisis concluye al exigir su innovación disciplinar y didáctica, con la finalidad de vigorizar la orientación democrática, educativa, humana y social, sustentada en la investigación geográfica que fortalezca la conciencia crítica, creativa y constructiva en los ciudadanos. 

ABSTRACT

The purpose is to analyze how the events of the beginning of the new millennium have influenced the school geography, facilitated in the daily practice of the classroom. The socio-historical scenario of the contemporary world is assumed as a reference to consider the formative action of the geographical teaching of citizens. However, their task is hampered by the validity of the theoretical and methodological foundations proposed in the nineteenth century. This situation motivated methodologically to make a documentary revision that facilitated to structure an approach on the epistemic and formative situation of the school geography and the influences of the present time in its pedagogical work. The analysis concludes by demanding its disciplinary and didactic innovation, with the purpose of invigorating the democratic, educational, human and social orientation, based on geographic research that strengthens the critical, creative and constructive conscience in the citizens.
