La mama en la mujer transgénero. Revisión sistemática

Review information about the breast in transgender women. Methods: A search of articles registered in Pubmed and Lilacs database with the terms “Breast and transgender women” (Pubmed) and “mama y mujeres transgénero” (Lilacs) were undertaken in July 2021, without the use of filters, searching for articles with primary information. Results: The database searches found 115 articles of which, after selection and full reading of them, 33 were finally extracted for inclusion in this review. Articles are grouped on breast changes with therapy to feminize, breastfeeding, reports of benign breast pathology, augmentation mammoplasty, screening, breast cancer, anaplastic large cell lymphoma associated with breast implants and others. Conclusions: Breast development is very important for transgender women, and breastfeeding is also important for some. To achieve this, they undergo medical treatments and often surgical procedures. However, this is also accompanied by changes in risk factors and the possibility of developing benign and malignant tumors. Primary information on these topics is presented.
