LA FÁBULA EL MORROCOY Y LAS PEREZAS DEL MÚSICO JUAN MANUEL OLIVARES (176097): PRIMER CUENTO FANTÁSTICO DE VENEZUELA

Resumen

Dar a conocer el cuento fantástico más antiguo de Venezuela, escrito por el músico Juan Manuel Olivares (17601797) del Oratorio San Felipe Neri de Caracas, es el objetivo del presente estudio. La semblanza del músico, la posible relación estructural de su cuento con una de las novedades culturales de este instituto religioso durante el siglo XVIII, y algunos aspectos significativos de su narración, ocupan el interés textual y contextual de su producción. La música y la literatura se unen así, en sus coordenadas históricas, para deconstruir los orígenes conocidos de este género literario en Venezuela.

ABSTRACT
Presenting the first known Venezuelan short story, written by the musician Juan Manuel Olivares (17601797) from the San Felipe Neri Oratory of Caracas, is the goal of this research. The semblance of the musician, the possible structural relationship of the short story with one of the cultural activities of this religious institute, and other relevant aspects of this narration, take place in the textual and contextual studies of its production. Music and literature are both gathering here, in their historic ways, cooperating to deconstruct the origins of this literary gender in Venezuela.
