JOSÉ GOROSTIZA: DICCIONES Y CONTRADICCIONES DE LO INDECIBLE DICHO

Resumen

Desde el inicio de su obra Gorostiza parece preocuparse por el silenciamiento paulatino de la voz. Su libro inicial parece sugerir toda la diatriba que el autor sostendrá con la palabra y sus insuficiencias en Muerte sin fin (1938), libro mayor y texto fundamental de la poesía hispanoamericana del siglo XX. Acaso su vida y obra deban ser leídas como las de un poeta marginal. De hecho, ningún otro poeta de su generación se preocupará tanto por pensar y sopesar hondamente la palabra poética y el silencio. Muerte sin fin plantea la absoluta imposibilidad de la palabra para dar cuenta del mundo, mientras exacta y redonda no hace sino eso. Se trata de un intento de dispositivo cultural contradictorio que busca, al mismo tiempo, revelar y ocultar el universo y su muerte postulando su imposibilidad.

ABSTRACT

From the beginning of his work Gorostiza seems to worry about the gradual silencing of the voice. His first book seems to suggest all the diatribe that the author will sustain with the word and its constant insufficiencies in Muerte sin fin (1938), a major and fundamental text in the hispano-american poetry of the 20th century. Perhaps, his life and work should be read as those of a marginal poet. In fact, no other poet of his generation will worry about thinking and weighing up, so deeply, both the poetic word and silence. Muerte sin fin states the complete impossibility of the word to give account of the world, while precise and and round does exactly that. It is an attempt to be a contradictory cultural apparatus that , simultaneously, seeks to reveal and conceal both the universe and its death by postulating its impossibility.
