PAÍS PORTÁTIL: TIEMPO Y ESPACIO

Resumen

En la novela País portátil, del venezolano Adriano González León, las coordenadas espacio-temporales, en las relaciones signossignificados, signos-usuarios, muestran más diferencias que
semejanzas en cuanto estilo de vida, época, contexto y personajes. Tiempo y espacio dejan su impronta por doquier. Los personajes, especialmente los femeninos de Trujillo, disfrutan y hasta sufren puertas adentro. Aquéllas apenas traspasan los límites de la casa solariega; las caraqueñas son activistas políticas, no se sabe donde viven, de dónde provienen, cuál es su familia. En cuanto los hombres, unos y otros participan de diversas expresiones de violencia. El espacio caraqueño es convertido en "no lugar"; el de Trujillo, el sitio para vivir, convivir y compartir… El espacio determina usos del habla estándar propia del caraqueño, frente a arcaísmos, formas de tratamiento muy respetuosas del trujillano. Tono, inflexión, ritmo, léxico y sintaxis muestran variedades lingüísticas.

ABSTRACT
In the novel Pais portátil of the Venezuelan Adriano González León, the coordinates time-space in the relations signs-meanings, signsusers, show more differences than similarities in lifestyle, period, context and characters. Time and space left their mark everywhere. The characters, especially the female ones of Trujillo enjoy and suffer behind closed doors. They just go through the boundaries of the manor; the women from Caracas are political activists, no one knows where they live, where they come from, who their family is. The male characters participate in various expressions of violence. The space of Caracas is converted into "no place", while that of Trujillo is the place to live, to coexist and to share ... The space determines the speech uses of people from Caracas, compared to archaic forms, treatment very respectful of people fromTrujillo. Tone, inflection, rhythm, vocabulary and syntax show linguistic varieties.
