Abstract

Gallbladder cancer is the most common bile duct malignancy and shows striking variation between world regions. Its main form of diagnosis is incidental and by suspicion through imaging studies the less usual. Our case deals with a 51-year-old male patient, without comorbidities, who reports abdominal pain of 1 month of evolution, insidious onset, located in the right hypochondrium, oppressive, moderate intensity, non-radiating, associated with asthenia and adynamia. On physical examination, the abdomen was painful on deep palpation in the right hypochondrium, no masses were palpable, and no signs of peritoneal irritation. Ultrasound impresses an endoluminal lesion in the gallbladder and tomographically, endoluminal neoproliferative thickening is observed, with phase-contrasted enhancement; Therefore, he underwent surgery, performing exploratory laparotomy + radical cholecystectomy, whose histology concluded as well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder, being then referred to medical oncology to receive adjuvant treatment.
