Abstract

In Venezuela, the genus Agonosoma Laporte, 1832 (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae), is represented up to the present by two species, one of them being Agonosoma trilineatum (Fabricius, 1781). This species was observed and collected, adults and nymphs, in semi-arid habitat south of the city of Ejido in the state of Mérida, which is reported for first time feeding on Croton pedicellatus Kunth. Based on the little information on A. trilineatum, it is suggested to continue observations and research related to the population dynamics of the species, ecological interactions with host plants, and ecological aspects
related to defensive mechanisms and antagonistic interactions.
