Femicidio durante la pandemia por COVID19 en Venezuela

Resumen

Resumen: objetivo: caracterizar el femicidio en Venezuela durante la pandemia de COVID19, de enero 2020 a marzo 2022. Método: estudio descriptivo para caracterizar epidemiológicamente la ocurrencia y distribución del femicidio, mediante el cálculo de tasas por año en Venezuela, según entidad federal y grupos de edad con significancia estadística LC 95%. Las variables: lugar de ocurrencia, tipo de causa de muerte, tipo de vínculo con el agresor y condición de tener hijos menores de edad se resumieron en porcentaje. Las cifras se obtuvieron de base de datos de Utopix, CEPAZ y población proyectada del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, los datos fueron procesados en hojas de Microsoft Excel ® y presentados en gráficos. Resultados: las tasas por femicidios mostraron tendencia al ascenso; en 2021 la tasa fue de 1,74. Los estados con tasas más altas fueron Distrito Capital, Vargas, Delta Amacuro, Miranda y Apure. El lugar donde más ocurrieron fue la casa de la víctima, el grupo de edad más afectado fue de 15-27 años, más del 40% tenía vínculos con el agresor y alrededor del 20% tenía hijos menores de edad. Es necesario diseñar y fortalecer medidas de intervención en salud pública para la violencia contra la mujer.

Abstrac Objective: to characterize femicide in Venezuela during the COVID19 pandemic, from January 2020 to March 2022. Method: descriptive study to epidemiologically characterize the occurrence and distribution of femicide, by calculating rates per year in Venezuela, according to federal entity and groups of age with statistical significance LC 95%. The variables: place of occurrence, type of cause of death, type of relationship with the aggressor and condition of having minor children were summarized in percentage. The figures were obtained from the Utopix, CEPAZ and projected population databases of the National Institute of Statistics, the data were processed in Microsoft Excel ® sheets and presented in graphs. Results: femicide rates showed an upward trend; in 2021 the rate was 1.74. The states with the highest rates were the Capital District, Vargas, Delta Amacuro, Miranda and Apure. The place where they occurred the most was the victim's house, the most affected age group was 15-27 years, more than 40% had ties to the aggressor and around 20% had minor children. It is necessary to design and strengthen public health intervention measures for violence against women.
